Thank you so much for considering being a volunteering sponsor for NYC 2023 in Tampa, FL. 

Our desire is to create an inclusive, safe, engaging, and meaningful event for each student. And these events are impossible without the commitment and sacrifice of adults who love God and like students. Because you play such an important role, I wanted to give you a head start on preparing for the exhausting and rewarding week of Nazarene Youth Conference. 

Each one of us, whether we are Youth Pastors, NYI Presidents, Youth Volunteers, and/or Parents, are coming to be NYC Youth Leaders with equal responsibility and influence for each student. . . even students which you don’t yet personally know. Your time at NYC will be dedicated to caring and overseeing students(both your church students and other students from our NWO District). NYC will be full of bus rides, airplane travels, worship services, work projects, meals, and so much more. I can guarantee there will be surprise challenges which will require us to be flexible and positive. These are all amazing opportunities to invest into the many young men and women with us. See yourself as a Spirit-filled Youth Leader because that is what you are. 

While you’re at NYC you can expect to have access to our directors, receive clear communication concerning our group activities, and obtain tools to help you lead and connect with students. Some of these tools include a list of students assigned to your travel groups, break out groups, MWO groups, as well as details about the service projects and food. 

We know that for most of you, using a week of family & vacation time is a great gift in itself. Thank you so much for caring and desiring to be involved in the formation of students. Ask God to give us patience, grace, and love for our fellow volunteers and leadership. Please plan to be an example in participation, discipline, attitude, and attendance.

MORE INFORMATION

We will be aiming for a 6:1 ratio for students to adult for this trip. Please understand if you don’t have 6 students attending NYC 23, that’s ok. If you have less than 6, we want you to please still consider sending an adult sponsor from your church. That adult would most likely be responsible for students from another church if necessary.

NOTE: We typically have more sponsors willing to go for this trip than we need, and unfortunately, not everyone who wants to go will be able to attend. Please work with your church’s point person to see if you are needed to help out in your church as they will be working with the NYC 23 Directors to make sure we have the proper ratio.
